Frigg is an original sculpture from Michael Upton’s series, House Guardians. She can be placed inside or outside the home to serve as a guardian, patron, and protector of all within her domain.
Born of a pure desire to play and a love for folk and outsider art, each House Guardian is handmade by the artist. Frigg's face is made from mortar, her eyes from pewter, and her base created using the traditional Japanese art of Shou Sugi Ban, a technique that preserves wood by charring it with fire.
